TARLAC CITY – About 22 ambulant vendors in Bamban town recently received NegoKarts from Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
“Each beneficiary was given an enhanced or start up business kit, which they can use for selling fresh meat and fish; snacks; street foods such as fish ball, hotdog, chicken ball, and kikiam; and salted and raw eggs,” DOLE Regional Director Ana Dione said.
Aside from this, the municipal government provided each recipient Php5,000 worth of raw materials.
“They also attended Entrepreneurship Development Training and Bookkeeping Seminar to ensure that they would manage their businesses well,” Dione added.
The NegoKart Project is one of DOLE’s strategies to respond to unemployment problems by assisting ambulant vendors in enhancing their existing livelihood undertakings into more profitable and sustainable businesses./CLJD/TJBM-PIA 3
