Cabanatuan City – – Discussing “Probinsiyano” tele-novela may be fatal.
This is the comment of PSupt Ponciano Zafra after ordering the arrest of a man who allegedly stabbed dead his drinking buddy during a drunken “debate” of TV evening program series Probinsyano.
Zafra identified the victim of stabbing as Cris Laurio, a native of Masbate, while the detained suspect as Victor Gumatay, 40 years old, single, from the far-south province of Zamboanga Del Sur.
Both are stay-in construction workers of Rembrant Builders at Barangay San Joseff Sur.
Witnesses said, the two drinking buddies have drunk a lot of liquor around midnight and had a heated argument over ABS-CBN TV show Probinsyano starred by Coco Martin. Apparently, Laurio kept on insisting that Coco Martin is a better actor “original” probisyano, the late box-office king Fernando Poe Jr.
Gumatay claim that it was Laurio who pulled out a knife which he used to stab the latter.
“Nang dahil sa kalasingan ko kaya ko nagawa yun sa aking kaibigan”, lamented Gumatay who is now detained for the charge of homicide./Nelson Bolos (FB: Tarlac News Center)
