TARLAC CITY – After the long holidays, the city government is now concentrating on the cleanliness and orderliness of the city, including the traffic situation here.
Mayor Cristy Angeles ordered the City Environment and Natural Resources Office and other concerned departments and agencies to implement the thorough cleaning and sanitation of the sidewalk along the Aquino Boulevard and the public market.
The directive was given to give comfortable and safer place to the relocated vendors as well as the consumers.
To address the issue on cleanliness and to eradicate foul odor in the public market area, Angeles ordered the creation of a task force that will handle the spreading of awareness to the public and monitoring of the cleanliness system of the Victory Uptown Market.
The lady mayor is currently focused on ensuring the regular conduct of such activities for the achievement of her main objective — a “Clean Tarlac City”.
Along with the cleanliness of the business area of the city is the orderliness of the sidewalk and parking areas along F. Tanedo Street, the major street of the city.
Angeles ordered the City Transport and Traffic Management Group and Task Force Market as well as the Tarlac City Police to conduct a joint inspection along F. Tanedo Street.
During the inspection, it was found out that several illegal structures and stalls were built by establishments and vendors beyond the allowable space.
They also noticed the double-parking of vehicles and excessive crowding of tricycles causing traffic congestion in the area.
The group agreed that necessary steps have to be made to clear the streets of all kinds of obstructions and eliminate inconvenience to motorists and pedestrians.
With the reduction of sidewalks and streets obstructions, the group will ensure traffic orderliness for the convenience both of the motorists and the commuting public. (PNA) LAP/ZST/EGUTIERREZ
