TARLAC CITY – The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) on Tuesday distributed certificates of land ownership award (CLOAS) covering 349.73 hectares of land to 228 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in this province.
DAR Secretary Rafael Mariano, together with agrarian reform regional and provincial officials, led the distribution of 303 CLOAS situated in the towns of Anao, Bamban, Camiling, Capas, Concepcion, Moncada, San Jose, San Manuel, Tarlac, and Victoria.
Secretary Mariano asked the ARBs to cultivate and make the lands productive as he assured them that the DAR will continuously extend its support services.
“Ang aking iiwan sa ating mga magbubukid ay paunlarin ang ating lupang sinasaka at maaasahan niyo sa DAR ang suporta,” he said.
“Pagyamanin ninyo ang lupang ipapamahagi sa inyo dahil gusto ng DAR ay manatili sa kontrol ninyo ang lupa,” DAR Undersecretary Rose Bistoyong said.
Meanwhile, the ARBs symbolically signed a commitment to cultivate and develop the lands awarded to them.
Danilo Fabros, one of the agrarian reform beneficiaries, said the long wait is finally over as it took more than 25 years for him to receive the CLOA.
Aside from awarding the CLOAS, the DAR likewise distributed 10 units of hand tractor which cost some PHP3.6 million each. /Eden Gutierrez/PNA)
