Nueva Ecija, Aurora artists honored; works on display

CABANATUAN CITY, Nueva Ecija – The public may enjoy selected works of 10 renowned artists from Nueva Ecija and Aurora provinces as a popular mall, in cooperation with government agencies and the private sector, honored them in ceremonies.

The works of Mario Parial of Gapan City, Edwin Wilwayco (Guimba), Heber Bartolome (Cabanatuan City), Elito Circa (San Jose City), Ramon Lopez (San Jose City), Gromyko Semper (Cabanatuan City), Fredi Agunoy (Cabanatuan City) all of Nueva Ecija; Sherwin Gonzales, Vincent Gonzales and Ian Maigan, all of Baler, Aurora, will be on display at SM City Mall here until Sunday, May 21.

This after the SM City Cabanatuan gathered and conferred recognition to these artists under its My City, My SM, My Art (A Celebration of Philippine Visual Arts) project.

Mark Herrera, mall manager said the project aims at bringing “arts and people together by showcasing the works of masters, modernists and millenials in a roadshow around SM Supermalls.”

He called on the people to continue supporting and promoting Philippine visual arts.
“We are very grateful and honored that for the first time we will host this award winning event of SM Supermalls under My City, My SM campaign here in Cabanatuan,” Herrera said.

The project, a tourism -driven campaign was advocating art for all as Supermalls is working with the communities to mount exhibits, contests in key cities in the Philippines in partnership with the National Commission on Culture and the Arts, Center Stage Production, Shell Philippines, Metropolitan Museum of Manila and the Philippine Star.

Bartolome, a folk and rock singer, songwriter, guitarist, bandurina player, bluesman and visual artist, hailed the project as a big leap in keeping Filipino heritage and culture alive.
