CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — Two incumbent female district representatives in Central Luzon will not be part of the incoming 17th Congress following their election as Governor.
Tarlac 2nd district representative Susan Yap becomes her province’s second female Governor after garnering 355,493 votes beating rival incumbent City Mayor Gelacio Manalang who got 199,480 votes.
She replaces brother Victor who was in turn elected as successor to her House seat.
Meanwhile, incumbent Nueva Ecija 3rd district representative Cherry Umali becomes her province’s first female Governor after she received 574,818 votes, beating Rody Antonino who got 354,860 votes.
Umali replaces her husband Aurelio, who was unsuccessful in replacing her in Congress./CLJD-PIA 3
