City Agri orients farmers on free crop insurance

TARLAC CITY – The Office of the City Agriculturist, along with the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC), spearheaded an orientation regarding crop insurance.

The orientation was attended by a total of 60 representatives from different agricultural sectors at the City Agriculture Conference Room last Wednesday, March 8, 2017.

The orientation is a part of the Registry System for Basic Sector in Agriculture (RSBSA) Free Insurance program of the PCIC that has an initial target of 4000 enrollees.

A master list, provided by the different national and local agricultural government departments, is used by the corporation to determine the farmers who are eligible for the program.

Furthermore, only one (1) hectare per farmer is freely insured by the said program.
The said orientation was attended by the Officer in Charge of the PCIC, Ms. Olivia Velasquez, to further explain the program.

Also, the good Mayor, Hon. Cristy Angeles, graced the orientation to show her full support, to announce the good news and to encourage patronizing programs that will prove to be of large help to the farmers/Tarlac CIO
