City Of San Fernando, Pampanga – – “We have all the reason to be proud of, we are No. 1 in anti-drugs operation”
Thus, said Police Regional Director PCSupt. Aaron Aquino on the result of the Philippine National Police national performance evaluation wherein Central Luzon came out Number 1 among all the regions in the PNP anti-drugs operation besting even the National Capital Region (NCR).
According to Aquino, the evaluation was on the PNP Project Tokhang, Street Level Target (SLT), High Value Target (HVT), Investigation and Communication Plan.
“Overall, we got a total of 31.09 percent rating, while NCR acquired 29.18 percent. It may seem a small difference, but in actual, it’s a very big gap,” Aquino said during the recent meeting of the Regional Peace and Order Council.
The performance evaluation is regularly conducted by the PNP headquarters to determine the “actual operational accomplishments” of each regional command on a given police program.
“We scored high in the areas of SLT, HVT and investigations compared to other regions. All these contribute to the fact that we are doing everything in our means to serve and protect the people of Central Luzon,” Aquino said.
Aquino revealed, “for the Project Tokhang operations, we received a 4.69 percent rating. Meanwhile, we got a 10.89 percent rating for SLT, and 6.25 percent for HVT”.
The 54-year police general also said the PRO 3 garnered a rating of 4.65 percent for the Investigation and 4.61 percent for the Communication Plan.
Aquino, who heads the 7 provinces and 2 chartered cities police commands, introduced a “first” in the PNP’s “internal cleansing: program.
One hundred fifty five policemen from Central Luzon were required to undergo a “6-month no-going-home re-training and reformation” program at the Camp Olivas grounds.
Most of the policemen were termed “rogue cops” for having records of “womanizing, mulcting, insubordination, gambling, and other derogatory activities”.
In the recent evaluation of the PRO3 commands, the Tarlac Police Provincial Office was steered by PSSupt Ritchie Medardo Posadas into becoming “2nd Best” from being No. 8 last year. /By Nelson Bolos
