CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has granted PHP200 million to 11 local government units (LGUs) to fund various developmental projects in the province.
DILG provincial director Myrvi Fabia said the recipients of the development funds ranging from PHP15 million to PHP24 million were the municipalities of Apalit, Arayat, Bacolor, Floridablanca, Guagua, Lubao, Macabebe, Minalin, San Luis, San Simon and Sto. Tomas.
Fabia said the assistance is under the DILG’s Assistance to Disadvantaged Municipalities (ADM) program.
“It is a funding-support program of the DILG in line with the advocacy of the national government to empower LGUs and boost citizen’s access to basic facilities,” she said.
Among the ADM projects are the rehabilitation and reconstruction of roads, building of small water impounding facilities and evacuation facilities, Fabia said.
She also said that the funds are downloaded to LGUs following their compliance with the requirements of the DILG Seal of Good Financial Housekeeping (GFH) and Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Public Financial Management System.
“The first release of funds has been downloaded to select LGUs. We are now waiting for the second tranche of release of ADM for the remaining non-recipients municipalities in Pampanga,” Fabia added. (Joel Mapiles/PNA)
