Escolango designated as OIC- Office of the SBMA Administrator

SUBIC BAY FREEPORT – Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) deputy administrator for legal affairs Atty. Randy Escolango was designated officer-in-charge (OIC) of the Office of the Administrator for the said agency.

The appointment was signed by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea through a memorandum dated October 19.

Escolango will replace former administrator Roberto Garcia, who tendered his irrevocable resignation last week.

The memorandum states that the designation of Escolango as OIC administrator is “to ensure uninterrupted delivery of public service.”

Garcia held the positions of chairman and administrator of SBMA until he turned-over the chairmanship of SBMA Board of Directors to Martin Diño on October 3.

Diño was the former chairman of the Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) who filed his candidacy for president in the last national election but later withdrew and nominated Davao City mayor now President Rodrigo Duterte.

Before his designation as OIC of the Office of SBMA Administrator, Escolango is the concurrent deputy administrator for legal affairs which is responsible in providing corporate legal services to the SBMA Board with regards to corporate policies.

The deputy administrator for legal affairs oversees the over-all operations of the SBMA Labor Department and Legal Department.

Escolango is also the concurrent director auxiliary squadron (DAS) of the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary District – National Capital Region-Central Luzon (CGAD NCRCL) 111 Squadron with a rank of captain.(PNA)/FPV/ZST/RAV
