Pura, Tarlac – – A high caliber pistol and 2 sachets of shabu were seized here by the police last Monday in separate incidents.
According to Police Provincial Director PSSupt Ritchie Medardo Posadas, Rommel David, 26, of Block 9, San Nicolas, Tarlac City, was arrested in a buy bust operation at Barangay Estipona here with 2 sachets of shabu.
While security guard Mar Albert Tamayo, 25, of Barangay Guiang, Rosales, Pangasinan, was apprehended for possessing an undocumented high powered pistol at Barangay Singat.
Apparently, Tamayo, who was riding a tricycle, had a minor vehicular accident with tricycle driver Zeus Novesteras at Barangay Poblacion 1. And on the ensuing altercation, Tamayo drew his gun against the latter and introduced himself as a policeman.
Fearing for his life, Novesteras run away but was chased by Tamayo who is “reeking of liquor”. Policemen manning a checkpoint led by SPO2 Roldan Capinpin subdued Tamayo and confiscated his firearm.
