Mayor Cristy to senior citizens: “Report establishments that refuse to give SC privileges”

TARLAC CITY — The officers of the Federation of Senior Citizens Association of the Philippines (FSCAP) applauded Mayor Cristy Angeles as she spoke before them at the FSCAP Leadership and Records Management Training Seminar at the Events Place, Carangian on June 20, 2017.

Mayor Cristy Angeles said the City Government strictly implements the privileges and benefits for the senior citizens as stated in Republic Act 9994 or the Expanded Senior Citizens Act of 2010 and mentioned an important issue on the provision of 20% discount and value-added tax (VAT) exemption.

“Kung mayroon man pong hindi magpapatupad nitong inyong 20% senior citizen discount ay ipagbigay alam po ninyo sa amin at tayo po ay tutulong upang kausapin ang mga establisimyentong ito,” Mayor Cristy said in her speech.

The City Mayor also guaranteed the assistance of the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) and City Legal Office if they would be seeking for legal advice.

CSWDO Officer-in-Charge Jimbo Soriano was also present at the said occasion.

The training seminar was participated in by the presidents, secretaries, and treasurers of the 76 Barangay Senior Citizens Association of Tarlac City.

FSCAP Paniqui Vice President Magdalena Donato and Wilma Delena of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office were the resource speakers at the said seminar which was hosted by the Tarlac City Office for Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) headed by Sergio Campos./CIO
