PRO-3 assures financial aid, benefits to family of late Bulacan cop

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — The Police Regional Office 3 (PRO-3) on Thursday assured full financial assistance and benefits to the family of Police Officer 1 Mark A. Mendoza, who died in the line of duty while rendering route security and traffic assistance in Bulacan during the conduct of a dry run for the forthcoming ASEAN Summit in Manila.

“We are saddened by this eventuality and express our deepest sympathy to the bereaved family of the late PO1 Mendoza. As the PNP recognizes the efforts of our men and women in the performance of their jobs, we will extend our support and give the necessary assistance to his surviving family,” PRO-3 regional director, Chief Supt. Amador V. Corpus said.

PO1 Mendoza, who went into coma after being accidentally hit by a white 2017 Toyota Hi-Ace van driven by Marcial Mayola, 58, driver, resident of Block 1, Lot 4, Phase 2, Pabahay 2000, Barangay Muzon, City of San Jose Del Monte last October 16, passed away Thursday morning at the Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center.

Corpus said that on the part of the PRO3, he will see to it that the family of Mendoza will get all the benefits entitled to the late police officer.

“While we cannot avoid unfortunate incidents like this, we will not falter to carry out our mandated tasks of maintaining peace and order and ensuring public safety and security especially now that we are hosting an international event,” he said. (PNA)
