TARLAC CITY— Twenty-two (22) teams from Northern Luzon have participated in the Luzon qualifiers for the Tarlac eSports League (TESL), a Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) tournament conducted by WASD in partnership with the City Government of Tarlac.
The format of the tournament will be done in a best-of-one double elimination bracket, with random seeding to be applied. The top four teams from this tournament will join Fallen 5, ACG.T and the winners of the Visayas and Mindanao qualifiers to complete the eight teams that will compete in the offline LAN playoffs, to be held in March this year.
Out of the eight teams that will compete in the LAN playoffs, only four of them will go to Tarlac and play in front of the crowd in late April for the lion’s share of the prize pool as the honor of winning the first-ever TESL.
According to the organizing committee for TESL, the details for the prize pool would be officially announced in two weeks’ time.
Mineski CS:GO, Imperium Pro Team (IPT), G1. Wolves and Alpha Dogs are among the big-ticket teams that participated in the tournament.
TESL is considered to be the first major local CS:GO tournament for the 2017 Philippine eSports season.
