17,000 Arrests, 68 Slain in Intesified Anti-illegal Drug Drive, Central Luzon has the most number of kills

With the intensified anti-illegal drugs operations and ‘Whole-of-Government’ Approach, the Philippine National Police has recorded a total of 17,680 neutralized persons from anti-illegal drugs operations nationwide from January 1 to June 15 of the current year.

According to the Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management (DIDM), these individuals were arrested through interdiction operations, service of arrest warrants and search warrants, checkpoints and other form of police operations.

Out of the 17,680 individuals arrested, 4,874 of them are from Region 4A which has the largest number of arrested persons.

Next is NCRPO with 3,760 and followed by PRO 3 with 3,004 arrested individuals.
Meanwhile, out of the 68 killed suspects from January 1 to June 15, Police Regional Office in Central Luzon recorded the most number with 25 dead from tactical engagements or encounters
Police Regional Office 4A in CALABARZON, recorded 14 slain suspects in its anti-drug operations.

In line with the government policy of zero tolerance to drug abuse, the PNP conducted random drug testing from May 10 to June 8, 2016 at the National Headquarters and Police Regional Offices to determine who among PNP personnel are using illegal drugs.

With a partial figure of 1,075 number of PNP personnel who underwent from drug testing, 137 came from the PNP NHQ in Camp Crame, 40 from QCPD, 16 from PRO 2, 34 from PRO 3, 10 from PRO 4A, 15 from PRO 5, 54 from PRO 6, 103 from PRO 7, 332 from PRO 10, 177 from PRO 11, 150 from PRO 13, and 157 from PRO COR.
