2 NE students arrested for selling marijuana

Cabanatuan City – – For supporting their studies through illegal means, they are about to lose their lives in jail.

Two students were arrested by police operatives in an entrapment operation when they sold dried marijuana leaves to a policeman poseur buyer.

In a press briefing, PSupt Ponciano Zafra disclosed the arrest of Jerome Dela Cruz y Agnes, 22, of resident of Barangay San Felipe Matanda, Aliaga, Nueva Ecija; and Jimwell De Guzman, 18, of Purok Malinis, Barangay Barrera, Cabanatuan City.

The 2 were busted in Burgos Avenue, Barangay Padre Burgos when they sold a P500 worth of marijuana fruitings to poseur buyer PO1 John Gerald Tugas.

“We have been monitoring these 2 students because of reports of their selling marijuana to other students”, said Zafra.

Dela Cruz and De Guzman are students of the Cabanatuan Resources and Technological (CRT) school.

The 2 refused to disclose their source of marijuana and are detained at this city’s police station.

They were charged of violation of sections 5 and 11 (selling and possession of illegal drugs) of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Anti-illegal Drugs Act of 2002) and are barred from posting bail./Nelson Bolos
