4 killed, 8 hurt in Tarlac road mishap

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Four persons died while eight others were injured when a passenger jeepney and a 10-wheeler truck collided along the Manila-North Road in Barangay Estrada, Capas, Tarlac, around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Senior Superintendent Ritchie Posadas, Tarlac police acting provincial director, on Wednesday identified the fatalities as Bernardo Miclat, Adrian Pabustan and Juvylyn Cariaga, all residents of Cut-Cut, Capas town. Another victim is a still unidentified man.

Injured and undergoing medical treatment in different hospitals in Tarlac City and Capas are Ma. Fatima Captul and Cristina David, both of Cut-cut, Capas; Jennifer Vinluan, Aurisimo Lavarias and Giovani Bulaon, all of Barangay Anapul, Bamban; John Dexter Domingo, Angeles Dante Basa and June Dizon, all of Barangay San Pedro, also in Bamban, Tarlac.

Posadas said that Miclat, Pabustan and Cariaga, all passengers of a Mitsubishi rebuilt passenger jeepney and an unidentified male passenger of Isuzu delivery truck, died while undergoing medical treatment.

Initial report, he said, showed the delivery truck was traversing the Manila-North road going south when it overtook another vehicle but collided head- on with the incoming passenger jeepney. (PNA)
