TARLAC CITY —The Filipino- Chinese Love and Care Foundation in cooperation with the City Government and the Apec Mobile Digital Opportunity Center has launched today, February 9, 2017 its free basic computer education program in the city.
Mayor Cristy Angeles tapped the support of Foundation Chairman Benigno Chua for the TESDA-accredited project which is intended for about 300 out-of-school youth and other city residents with no computer knowledge.
“We express our most sincere thanks to Mr. Chua for making the City Government a beneficiary of this laudable project that is in line with our objective of providing the best educational opportunities, especially computer education, for all Tarlaqueños,” Mayor Angeles said.
With the use of a fully-equipped 40-footer container van converted into a fully-air-conditioned computer classroom, the tutorial, which will be held at the Tarlac Plazuela, will come in three (3) batches of 100 students per batch.
Starting on February 10, students will study for 18 days and will take their lessons for two-and-a-half hours per day. To accommodate 100 students, a day will be divided into five (5) sessions starting from 7:30 AM to 8:00 PM.
Graduates of the program will have better chances of employment locally or abroad because they will receive TESDA-issued certificates of completion.
The Filipino- Chinese Love and Care Foundation has a total of six (6) computer education vans regularly deployed in various localities in the country./Tarlac CIO
