The 50th Negosyo Center in Central Luzon was recently opened in the Science City of Muñoz in Nueva Ecija. The opening ceremonies were led by Mayor Nestor Alvarez and Provincial Director Brigida T. Pili of the Department of Trade and Industry. Representatives from the Nueva Ecija Micro Small and Medium Enterprises Development Council also attended the event.
The Muñoz Negosyo Center was established by virtue of Republic Act No. 10644 or the Go Negosyo Act to provide business consultancy, business information, training and product development services to existing and potential entrepreneurs throughout the country. Since its implementation, more than 627 Negosyo Centers have been established throughout the country through partnerships with LGUs, Academe and non-government organizations. Central Luzon has one of the most number of Negosyo Centers established along with Eastern Visayas which has 66 Negosyo Centers opened.
Another Negosyo Center was also recently opened in Masinloc, Zambales on October 4, 2017. The new Nego Center will help in providing supplementary livelihood for the fishing communities in the town as well as make use of the many raw materials available in Masinloc.
The 50 Negosyo Centers of Central Luzon have also assisted in registering the highest number of Barangay Micro Business Enterprises (BMBE) in the country. In the first half of 2017, the Nego Centers in the region have assisted in establishing 1,258 barangay microenterprises.
