TARLAC CITY– Approximately 3,000 cooperative members recently trooped to the Tarlac Recreational Park for Kooplympics 2017.
“The activity aims to celebrate the Cooperative Month this October and develop a sense of camaraderie and cooperation among cooperative members in the region,” Cooperative Development Authority Regional Director Marieta Hwang said.
“Cooperatives play a vital role in poverty reduction and job generation. Most of the participants are beneficiaries of various programs and projects of cooperatives that’s why once a year we should celebrate because we have rendered helpful service in our community,” Hwang added.
Apart from sports competitions, Kooplympics 2017 likewise featured a business opportunity seminar, battle of the bands, and boodle fight.
This year’s Cooperative Month celebration carries the theme “KooPagbabago: Pagsulong at Pag-unlad para sa Malakas, Masigla at Matatag na Kooperatiba.” (CLJD/CJVF-PIA 3)
