Cabanatuan City – Will they ever stop?
In a “relentless” anti-drug operations, this city’s police arrested 3 and killed 2 others suspected of involvement in illegal drugs.
In an interview, PSupt Ponciano Zafra revealed Michael Estrella, 33, resident of Brgy. M.S Garcia, Cabanatuan City and Oliver Garcia, 46, of Purok 3, Brgy. Matadero, Cabanatuan City were arrested during anti-illegal drug buy bust operation last Monday.
The entrapment on Estrella and Valdez resulted in the confiscation of 6 sachets of shabu and several pieces of drug paraphernalia.
On same day, Jeffrey Belmonte, 40 years old, of Brgy San Josef Sur, was arrested at his residence by virtue of a warrant of Arrest issued by for violation of Sections 5 and 16, RA 9165.
Belmonte yielded a sachet of dried Marijuana leaves and a caliber .380 Bersa pistol with 5 live ammunitions.
Last May 14, Zafra’s police team figured in an armed encounter where 2 suspected drug dealers were killed.
Slain in a bungled buy bust where Edmundo Dela Vega, 55, resident of Barangay San Cristobal, Licab town, and Michael Gravidez, 38, of Brgy. Bantug Norte, here. The 2 were killed when they shot it out with the police poseur buyer and other police operatives.
Recovered from Dela Vega’s body were an ARMSCOR caliber .45 pistol with live ammos, the 4 pieces P500 bills used as buy bust money and 4 sachets of shabu.
While from Gravidez’s cadaver, a caliber .357 Smith and Wesson pistol with 4 live ammunitions and 3 fired shells and 4 sachets of shabu.
Also recovered from the place of incident were 3 digital micro weighing scale, and several pieces of drug paraphernalia.
Two weeks ago, Zafra personally led the arrest of 8 suspected drug personalities and the confiscation of P1 Million worth of shabu.
“Hindi kami titigil, hindi kami magpapahinga, hangga’t hindi namin napapahinto ang illegal na droga. Hindi sa mamamatay yung dalawa kung hindi nila pinutukan ang aking mga pulis”, Zafra said/Nelson Bolos.
