CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Central Luzon claimed its third consecutive Philippine National Skills Competition (PNSC) overall crown after it topped the leader board in the 2016 edition with four Gold and four Silver medals.
“PNSC is considered as the Olympics of blue-collar occupations where technical-vocational trainees and trainers, graduates, workers and practitioners meet to showcase their talent and skills in a competitive but friendly setting,” Technical Education and Skills Development Authority Regional Director Teodoro Gatchalian said.
“Top finishers shall represent the country in the ASEAN Skills Competition in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia this September,” Gatchalian added.
Gold medal winners include Mark Anthony Guiao and Albert Tinao from Bataan for Mechanical CAD, Rommel Florita and Jonathan Alvior from Zambales for Welding, Arbethnel Ilagan and Andres Cabalu from Tarlac for Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Servicing, and Shane Gabriel Macapagal and Joy Arianne Filoteo from Pampanga for Graphics Design.
Moreover, Silver medalists were Jervy Laus and Rameses Dimla from Pampanga for IT Network Systems, Jonathan Pascual and Noel Jeric de Guia from Bulacan for Web Design, John Horris Soriano and Norman Buan from Bataan for Electronics, and Sunshine Manalac and Maria Romina Gracia Cruzado from Bataan for IT Software Solutions./CLJD-PIA 3
