eJeeps now plying SM Clark-Clark Airport route for free

ANGELES CITY, Pampanga – With the increasing number of flights at Clark International Airport(CRK), both domestic and international, the SM City Clark Management has launched its eJeep services for passengers from the mall going to the airport and vice versa.

According to SM City Clark Officials, there are four available eJeeps.

The eJeeps, with a cost of PHP1.2 million each, will ply the route between SM Clark and the CRK on a daily basis.

Because the service is on a trial stage, the rides are still free.

But a PHP25 fare per passenger will be collected by next year, still a considerable drop from the high passenger fares collected by some unscrupulous jeepney and taxi drivers plying the same route.

According to the SM Clark Management, 12 eJeeps will be added to the fleet.

The eJeeps were deployed in time for the increasing number of travelers utilizing the Clark airport.

Philippine Airlines, the country’s flag carrier, has already launched flights at the CRK and AirAsia Philippines will also relaunch its flights to Kalibo, Aklan and Davao from Clark.

The SM Clark City Management said CRK passengers may leave their vehicles at the SM Clark premises and take the eJeeps to Clark airport to catch their flights.

SM Clark will serve as the first ‘Park and Fly’ area for the Clark airport.

The eJeep was realized upon the recommendation of Pampanga Governor Lilia Pineda to the SM Clark Management to provide an efficient and economical transportation means to the flying public.

This , after some passengers complained of erring drivers in Clark who charge high jeepney and taxi fares.

Pineda had earlier met with SM vice president Bien Mateo, Regional Operations head Junias Eusebio, SM Mall manager Andrea Maglangbayan, 1-Team president Yuri Sarmiento, and LKY Group operations manager Anthony Hernandez for the operation of the eJeepneys in the Clark Freeport Zone.
