CITY OF MALOLOS — On February 5, Tarlac City Mayor Maria Cristina Angeles attended the Central Luzon Regional Athletic Association (CLRAA) Meet 2017 opening ceremony at the Bulacan Sports Complex to show her steadfast support to the young athletes of Tarlac City.
This year, the CLRAA Meet is hosted by the Provincial Government and DepEd Schools Division Office of Bulacan.
Bearing the theme “Achieving Stronger Union through Friendly Sports Competition,” the said athletic meet aims to encourage students to have holistic and active lifestyles and practice the arts of winning, losing, and teamwork.
Each year, the said sports fest is being participated in by hundreds of young athletes from the different provinces and cities in Region III who anticipates the possibility to compete at the Palarong Pambansa.
This year’s delegates have come from city divisions of Angeles, Balanga, Cabanatuan, Gapan, Mabalacat, Malolos, Meycauayan, Muñoz, Olongapo, San Fernando, San Jose, San Jose del Monte and Tarlac, and divisions of Aurora, Bataan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Tarlac, Zambales and Bulacan.
The opening ceremony was graced by Gov. Wilhelmino Sy-Alvarado who welcomed all athletes, coaches and guests, and Sen. Richard J. Gordon, the keynote speaker.
