Cabanatuan City – – We will continue our determined efforts to totally eliminate illegal drugs in the city.
Thus, said as P1 Million worth of shabu was confiscated and 8 drug personalities were arrested in a “successful” police buy bust at Barangay Zulueta here.
In his report, PSupt Ponciano Zafra identified those arrested as Nemencius Galang AKA “June”, 48, Leoncio Ancheta, AKA “One”, 48, Josephine Ancheta, AKA “Jopen”, 43, Marvin Palolan, 29, John Rendden Ancheta, 25, Joshua Gabriel Ancheta, 19, and Gian Jayson Ancheta, 17, all from Doña Encarnacion Ave., Brgy Zulueta and Elena Valdez, 24, of Brgy San Roque Norte.
Zafra said the buy-bust was conducted around 7 AM against Nemencius Galang and Leoncio Ancheta who sold P2,500 worth of shabu to a police poseur buyer.
The shabu were contained in 18 plastic sachets, 6 of which were weighed around 50 grams each.
Unofficial estimate puts the total quantity of illegal drugs confiscated at “around 340 grams with street value of more than P1 Million”. Also confiscated is a digital micro-weighing scale.
Josephine, Marvin, John Rendden, Joshua Gabriel, Gian and Elena were apprehended while “repacking” shabu at Nemencius’ house.
“This is our biggest haul of shabu this year. We will continue our determined efforts to totally eliminate illegal drugs in the city”, said Zafra.
Once repacked for street level distribution, the confiscated shabu may come out to more than 11,200 sachets of P500 retail size.
Since last year, this city’s police have arrested 280 drug personalities from 180 anti-drug operations. More than 1.25 kg of shabu and almost 7 kg of marijuana have so far been confiscated. More than 6,000 houses have been visited under Project Tokhang.
Last Monday to Holy Wednesday, Zafra and his police team were able to arrest 8 other drug pushers including Reynaldo Delos Santos, Chairman of Barangay Pula and his son Billy Rey. Reynaldo is listed the Nueva Ecija’s No. 1 High Value Target (HVT) under Project Double Barrel Reloaded.
