PRO-3 intensifies drive vs illegal gambling in Central Luzon

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — The Police Regional Office -3 (PRO-3) has started its intensified drive against illegal gambling in Central Luzon.

The PRO-3, in its separate anti-gambling operations, arrested Tuesday four persons in the provinces of Bulacan, Pampanga and Tarlac who were caught in the act of collecting bets for illegal number games known as jueteng and bookies.

Those arrested were Abigail Castro, 34, a resident of Barangay Niugan, Angat, Bulacan; Eliza Dolores Due, 34, of Barangay Maimpis, City of San Fernando, Pampanga; Enrimo Cruz, 51, of Barangay PulongSantol, Porac, Pampanga, and Ronnie Dizon, 33, of Barangay Pando, Concepcion, Tarlac

Confiscated from them were several illegal gambling paraphernalia, including collection money.

Police Chief Supt. Amador Corpus, PRO-3 regional director, lauded the operating police troops for the arrests as he vowed to eradicate all forms of illegal gambling in the region.

Likewise, Corpus said that police operatives are continuously conducting monitoring operations especially in the areas where illegal gambling activities have been previously reported. (PNA)
