Tarlac’s 2 most wanted fugitives nabbed

CAMP MACABULOS, Tarlac City — Two most wanted persons were arrested on Thursday in separate operations by police authorities in Tarlac province.

Senior Superintendent Ritchie Medardo Posadas, director of Tarlac Police Provincial Office, identified the arrested suspects as Inggo Melegrito and Ronnie Bacani.

Melegrito, the most wanted person in the municipality of San Jose, was arrested for robbery by the members of Provincial Mobile Force Company who spotted him while conducting patrol operations in Barangay Maamot.
Recovered from Melegrito were a 12-gauge shotgun, three pieces homemade shotgun, five ammunition of 12-gauge shotgun, a hand grenade, a bolo, a scythe and a homemade fishing arrow.

Meanwhile, Bacani, 33, of Barangay Matatalaib was arrested by Tarlac City police led by Inspector Welhilmino Alcantara, chief of intelligence operatives.

Bacani was apprehended in Barangay Del Pilar, Zaragoza, Nueva Ecija by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Albert J. Tenorio of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 14, Manila for carnapping and robbery.

Alcantara said Bacani is a member of the notorious Catanghal Group that is responsible for a series of carnapping and robbery incidents in Central Luzon and Metro Manila. (PNA)
