Paniqui, Tarlac – – She was just on her way to a beauty parlor when death came unexpectedly.
A 63-year-old vacationing Filipino-American grandmother was crushed to death in a road accident along the Mac Arthur Highway in Barangay Samput at around 2 PM yesterday.
According to PSupt. Joel Mendoza, killed on the spot was Nora Medriano y Miranda, a native of Barangay Carino here.
Medriano just arrived from the State of Texas last July 2 for a 2-month vacation.
A speeding south-bound white Isuzu Dmax pick-up (PSO 460) crushed the tricycle she was riding together with her daughter Meyscell Peria, and 2 granddaughters Samantha Peria (9 y/o) and Seanthell (7) who all suffered severe body injuries.
The pick-up was driven by Ruben Espiniola y Cruz, 46, who is also from Barangay Cayanga, here.
“Pupunta lang siya sa bayan para magpa-ayos ng buhok, kinuha naman siya ni Lord”, said her youngest son Christian Medriano.
Medriano, whose husband is still in the US, was survived by her 6 children and 13 grandchildren
