CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) regional office here has awarded local government units (LGUs) in Central Luzon for their effective and efficient implementation of locally-funded projects.
“I would like to congratulate and express gratitude to everyone for the successful year in the implementation of the DILG’s programs,” said DILG Regional Director Julie Daquioag during the awarding ceremony held at the Kingsborough International Convention Center here Wednesday.
Named as best implementer of Assistance to Disadvantaged Municipalities (ADM) on disaster risk reduction and other infrastructures were General Mamerto Natividad, Nueva Ecija (4th class municipality); Zaragoza, Nueva Ecija (3rd class); Bongabon, Nueva Ecija (2nd class); and Cabiao, Nueva Ecija (1st class).
The best implementer of ADM on water supply and sanitation were Pura, Tarlac (4th-5th class); Gabaldon, Nueva Ecija (2nd-3rd class); and Pulilan, Bulacan (1st class).
On the other hand, the best implementer of ADM on local access roads and bridges were San Clemnte, Tarlac (5th class); Lllanera, Nueva Ecija (4th class); San Luis, Pampanga (3rd class); Casiguran, Aurora (2nd class); and San Ildefonso, Bulacan (1st class).
The municipality of Talavera, Nueva Ecija was awarded as the best implementer of Performance Challenge Fund.
The Performance Challenge Fund grand slam (2015-2018) awardees, meanwhile, were the provincial governments of Bulacan, Balanga City, Bataan; Mabalacat City, Pampanga; Plaridel, Bulacan; Floridablanca, Pampanga; and Victoria, Tarlac.
The municipality of Cuyapo, Nueva Ecija was named as best SALINTUBIG (Sagana at Ligtas na Tubig Para sa Lahat or Abundant and Safe Water for All) program implementer while the best small water impounding projects implementer was the municipality of Arayat, Pampanga.
The provincial government of Bulacan was also named as the best Conditional Matching Grant to Provinces (CMGP) program implementer.
Meanwhile, the best performing LGUS for locally funded projects were Anao, Tarlac; Cabangan, Zambales; Santa Ana, Pampanga; Iba, Zambales; and Cabiao, Nueva Ecija./Froilan Magtoto (PNA)
