PGT, TESDA award starter tool kits to STEP graduates

CAPITOL HILL, Tarlac – The provincial government of Tarlac headed by Gov. Susan Yap, together with the Congressional District Office of Tarlac second district Rep. Victor Yap, in partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority [TESDA] awarded certificates of completion and starter tool kits during the awarding ceremonies for Skills Training for Employment Program [STEP] beneficiaries held at the Bulwagan ng mga Gobernador last August 23.

More than two hundred Tarlaqueños from the three municipalities and lone city of the second district of Tarlac benefited from STEP.

TESDA’s STEP is a community-based specialty training program that seeks to address the specific needs of the communities and promote employment, particularly through entrepreneurial, self-employment and service oriented activities.

Starter tool kits and 60 pesos daily allowance during the duration of the training was released directly to the beneficiaries. The daily allowance was released after the completion of their almost three-month training which they can use as seed capital to start their livelihood undertakings.

TESDA’s Provincial Director Ben-Hur Baniqued, in his message, thanked the Yap siblings for their continued support and urged all beneficiaries not to stop until they realize their dreams of a better life.

“Thank you Gov. Susan Yap and Cong Vic Yap for your support and I urge all of the beneficiaries not to stop and not to quit in seeking your dream of success,” adding that, “Now that you have undergone training and you have your starter tool kits, you will now have your own shops to help your family.”

In Gov. Susan Yap and Cong. Victor Yap messages which was read by provincial Information Officer Arvin Cabalu, congratulated all who completed their trainings and envisioned to meet the highest employment rate in the province through these various training programs of the provincial government of Tarlac,

Training offered from TESDA’s STEP are service automotive electrical components leading to automotive servicing NCII, Performed diesel engine tune-up leading to automotive, Test and repair wiring/lighting system NCI, shielded metal arc welding NCI, install wiring devices/install lighting system and RAC servicing air-conditioning NCII.

Awarded certificates and starter tool kits were 40 from the Municipality of Victoria, 25 from Gerona, 25 from San Jose, 89 from Tarlac City and 24 from TESDA Provincial Training Center.
