Tarlac town gets DILG seal of good governance

Moncada, Tarlac – – Our perseverance and reforms paid-off.

This was the comment of Mayor Lita Aquino after receiving the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) “Seal of Good Local Governance” (SGLG).

“We have been trying our best to serve our people. The DILG award proves that we are on the right track in our policies and programs”, Aquino said.

The SGLG award says “the Municipal Government of Moncada met the upgraded criteria for 2017 covering the Four core areas (of good governance), namely: Financial Administration, Disaster Preparedness, Social Protection and Peace and Order”.

According to Aquino, “the SGLG award is very significant because we can now avail of special funds from national government, such as the Performance Challenge Fund. And we can now access bank loans for our various projects”.

Private and government financing institutions require local governments units a Good Financial House keeping Certificate from the DILG before their loans are released.

“Additionally, the (Moncada) Municipal Government passed the parameters for all the essential areas: Business Friendliness and Competitiveness, Environmental Management and Tourism , Culture and Arts”, said the DILG award.

With the prestigious award, Aquino commended municipal employees.
“I am proud and, at the same, thankful to our employees for their perseverance and dedication in serving the public and for their upholding honesty in the government service”, Aquino said./Nelson Bolos
