Town’s ‘Most wanted’ arrested with 4 guns, grenade

San Jose, Tarlac – – He is armed and dangerous.

Thus said, PSSupt Ritchie Posadas, Tarlac Police Provincial Director, on the arrest of Inggo Melegrito, this town’s No. 1 Most Wanted Person, at his mountainous hide out at Barangay Maamot who was nabbed with 4 shot guns, a grenade and ammunitions.

Posadas revealed that Melegrito was apprehended by the Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC, formerly the Provincial Public Safety Company) commanded by PCI Rene DC Ligutan.

Melegrito was long wanted based on the Warrant of Arrest issued by Judge Jose Vallo of the Tarlac Regional Trial Court (Criminal Case No. 15-229) for Robbery.

“With his high powered firearms, he could have engaged our apprehending personnel if not for their swiftness and competence”, said Posadas.
Posadas commended PInsp. Philadiane Fronee Clemena who personally headed the arrest of Melegrito who had been hiding for more than 2 years.

It was gathered that Melegrito and Joel Caperal Bautista robbed a sari-sari store at their barangay of P15,000 worth goods.

Bautista was arrested last November 17.
