Last June 2, Friday, at the SP Conference hall, the Joint Committee on HEALTH & ENVIRONMENT chaired by City Councilor TOPEY DELOE REYES and JOJO BRIONES respectively presided over the complaint lodged by affected residents of Sitio Pag-asa, Tibag, Tarlac City against spouses Marlon and Agnes Dele Rosa in relation to the alleged swarm of flies coming from the their poultry facility situated on the above-mentioned area.
At the start of the hearing, the presiding officer, with all the concerned city hall department head and representatives are present (CHO, CEO, CPDO, take note, ENRO is not in attendance), the complaint was read and after that, the participants and guest and complainants were acknowledged.
THE CHO, thru MDM NICDAO and IBARRA (Sanitary inspectors) and headed by DRA. GO has, through a clear power point presentation, given their report, findings, and recommendations.
For their part, the CPDO and CEO has yet to submit the necessary documents as to the validity and legality of the poultry business which later on presented by the respondent MDM AGNES DELA ROSA though late in arrival.
Concrete actions and not irrelevant and unwanted statements must be given priority in this regards with the health and welfare of our people is at stake.
The prime proponent of the complaint, spouses BENIGNA and FREDDIE FARRES, stressed that they are not against the poultry facility and fully understand the right of MDM DELA ROSA to indulge in a business for, according to them, they themselves are businessmen but repeated their plea for the management of poultry to look into and consider the welfare and safety of the affected families within the vicinity of the said poultry facility and not only inside their poultry building as observed and recommended by the CHO officials who have inspected the said facility once.
At the end of the hearing, Councilor JOJO BRIONES has recommended to the body, especially to the complainants, to address the issue to the executive office or to MAYOR CRISTY C. ANGELES FOR APPROPRIATE AND PROMPT POSITIVE ACTION.
Sana naman ay kagyat itong mabigyan ng kaukulang aksiyon mula sa tanggapan ng ating butihing FIRST LADY CITY MAYOR, the HONORABLE CRISTY C. ANGELES through the concerned Departments of the City Government for the sake and welfare and safety of the many affected families in the area because of foul odor and swarm of flies emitted because of the poultry facility.
Such scenario, if not solved the soonest may adversely affect not only the environment, the farmlands but the very health of the families especially the children residing within the vicinity of the said poultry facility.
