1st Tarlac City KAISA FESTIVAL opens with Trade Fair

TARLAC CITY — The week-long 1st Tarlac City KAISA FESTIVAL opened Monday with a Trade Fair of native products at the Tarlac Plazuela.

Mayor Cristy Angeles led the ribbon-cutting ceremony along with Vice Mayor Genaro Mendoza and other city and barangay officials. The event is being speareheaded by the City Cooperative Enterprise Development Office [CCEDO] under Ms. Cynthia Chuidan.

The 1st Tarlac City KAISA FESTIVAL will run from January 16 to 21, 2017 in celebration of the Feast Day of St. Sebastian on January 20, the city’s patron saint.

“This year’s Fiesta Celebration was named the KAISA FESTIVAL, with the theme ‘Pagkakaisa ng Diwa ng Pagkakaisa ng mga Tarlaqueño’, in recognition to the strong unity displayed by Tarlaqueños in surmounting challenges and also in gratitude for the blessings received during the past year,” Mayor Angeles said.

On sale at the Trade Fair are native arts and crafts, cakes and delicacies, processed Tarlaqueño food products and souvenir items.

Highlights of the Festival are: Ms. Tarlac City 2017 Coronation Night, January 16, 7:00 PM, Street Dance Competition, January 17, Ginebra Night Concert,,January 19, 6:00 PM, and the Grand Homecoming Night January 20, starting at 7:00 PM, all at the Tarlac Plazuela. The Color Run Competition and the KAISA MUSIC FESTIVAL will be held on January 21, 2017./Tarlac CIO
